Which cruise line for a Southampton mini cruise?

Hi, I would really appreciate some help, I want to book a mini cruise for preferably 3 nights for towards the end of this year. Me and dh are 39/42 and have done a 4 night P&O which we really enjoyed last year.

Ideally we would prefer xmas markets and had originally booked a 2 nighter with P&O , however I cancelled it as for the price we could get an extra day or two for a similar price, plus 2 nights was not quite long enough. ( we had previously booked this one as we were travelling with another couple who can no longer make it )

So the question is, has anyone traveled with Cunard or royal carribean? I'm willing to give either a try, but am not sure which one to go for, I'm a bit worried Cunard is too old and royal c is a bit busy and full of families ( I do like kids , We have 3 it's just it's supposed to be a romantic weekend away :D)

Many thanks for any replies :)

You choices are extremely limited as only Cunard and P&O operate mini cruises from UK in December. Cunard will be three times the price of P&O and simply not value for money.

P&O is the only option, unfortunately RCL shorter cruises end in October as all their ships then cross the Atlantic.

Thanks for the reply :) I don't mind travelling before December and have found the prices to be pretty much similar when on offer, it was more a question of what is like on board the ships really, old and stuffy or ok :D

  • The best advise to selecting your ideal cruiseline would be to visit www.cruisecritic.co.uk and look at the section 'How to pick a Cruiseline' I have been on many different cruiselines and would say that their assessment is near to correct as is possible.
Take a look, only you can decide, if I wanted a calm, restful and romantic break I would choose Celebrity, they offer value for money and are a cut above the main stream

    .

Any evidence of the three times? Cunard and P&O charge virtually the same. Starting prices for an inside cabin are About £100 a night.
