OK. Did you supply EDF with opening meter readings and how close are they to the readings shown on your EDF My Account?

    Edit:

Just thinking this through for a moment. If the closing readings shown on your SP bill are less than the opening readings on your EDF account, then you would be better paying SP what they say you owe and saying nothing. If the SP closing readings are higher than the opening readings in your EDF account, then as I said earlier, raise this discrepancy formally with SP. If you don't object, then you will pay for the difference twice. There is no point raising the issue with EDF as they will have passed the readings to SP to close your account. If SP had difficulty with the meter readings that they were given, then SP should have raised a dispute at the time. I hope all the above makes sense.

  • The Scottish Power readings are higher by several hundred so I presume then from what you are saying I have been overcharged by SP?

Possibly. You now need to report this descrepancy to Scottish Power. Give them the exact readings from your EDF MYAccount. Personally, I would offer to send them a copy of the PDF file that you can download from EDF MYAccount. It is possible that the error sits with EDF but that is for SP to argue. What is important is that the matter is resolved and the closing and opening readings are the same. I would also ask for all recovery action to be halted until such time as the matter is resolved. Best of luck.
