How can I tell my Android tablet to look in a specific location for a file?

I have a Sumvision tablet has about 16GB of internal storage which is described as NANDFLASH in the Settings screen. I understand that this is a virtual SD card. The tablet is supposed to take an external SD card and I bought one so that I could import my recipes to it for Paprikaapp, as the User Guide says that is the default location that Paprikaapp looks in, but I cannot get the tablet to recognise the SD card. Having searched the web I suspect that the card reader in my tablet is malfunctioning (tablet is out of guarantee).
Does anyone know how I can tell paprikaapp to look in the Nandflash? There seems to be an address bar similar to Windows, but I have no idea how this works in Android and what to write in it.

Formatted the sd card ??
Usually in settings mounts and storage format external card .
But it will depend upon what Android OS is used .
Fails format ext sd card in PC via a card reader .0 -
You need a 'file explorer' app for your Android. ES File Explorer is excellent and free. You can browse around and find whether the SD card is 'mounted' or not.0

Thank you. I have installed ES File Explorer and I also formatted the micro SD card to factory default in case I had done something wrong (quite likely as neither the card or tablet manual had any instructions and this is the first such card that I have had). ES File Explorer seems to 'see' the card as it tells me that it is empty. Later on I will put the recipe file on the card and see whether paprikaapp can read it.0

All sorted now, thanks. Paprikaapp can see the recipe file on the micro SD card.0
