Hi.We have been trying to make a claim against Ge money for mis sold ppi on our mortgage, despite proof they keep rejecting the claim saying we did not have ppi.We have been using Gladstone Brooks who have sent the claim plus the proof of ppi to Ge money three times now.We lost our our house through their ppi and i can see that they have no intention of admitting we even had ppi. What can we do next.

  • From what you say GE seem pretty adamant that you did not have PPI. What is the proof that you refer to?

Are you sure they are the seller of the policy? a lot of GE Money's PPI was sold through brokers. How much is the premium and what year was this sold?

How did you lose the house through PPI? PPI is there to stop this happening if you are unable to work due to accident, sickness and unemployment.
  • I even have the name of sales man who sold the policy .It was 2004 and Ge money was then igroup. We had to remortgage as my ex husband had forged my signiture and cashed in the endowment of 17 years. We was told we HAD to have ppi and went along with it some 14 months later my husband was ill and off work for a few months Ge money refused our claim and long story short we had to sell house and now rent. Some months after we sold house we had a letter from Ge money informing us our ppi would run out in July 2007 the letter is on headed paper.

So this was single premium PPI? Who arranged the Igroup mortgage?

I'm not sure why GE would refuse a claim as they were not an insurer.
  • We understood we were paying for the ppi monthly in with the mortgage at no time did we pay a single premium. We didnt have the money to do this anyway.I have all the paperwork ,policy and letters. All i want to know is what to do next.

Paying the PPI "in with the mortgage" IS single premium!

You still have yet to explain why the claim on the insurance was refused?

And did he work for GE Money?
It was 2004 and Ge money was then igroup.

Igroup secured loans were mostly arranged via brokers.
some 14 months later my husband was ill and off work for a few months Ge money refused our claim

GE Money are not an insurer and would not be involved in a claim on the insurance policy. So, they would not reject it.

    Who arranged the Igroup mortgage?
Why was claim refused and who was the insurer?
Why was policy stopped in 2007?
    How much was the premium/s?

The reasons for all the questions is that Igroup did not sell many mortgages and PPI at all, most of their sales were through brokers and the Igroup policies were a monthly premium PPI. The fact you had a letter in 2007 suggests the single premium finished then, which indicates this was a loan not a mortgage.

If you can give us more information we can point you in right direction.
  • The bloke was called Nick Rogers and his id no is on the plan.It was for a mortgage and we most definatly understood he worked for Ge money (igroup as i mentioned earlier)and it was taken out in june/july 2004.Nick Rogers came to our house several times Never at the agreed day or time after the first visit, once even meeting my husband in the car park at work. With hindsight we now see this was not right. In 2005 my husband was ill and off work we tried to claim but were told we had no right to claim. We were stressed and more concerned with my husbands health.Unable to pay mortgage Gr money took us to court to reposess but the the judge was unsypathetic to Ge money money and made arrangements to pay the arrears. This was to much for us to afford so we sold the house in October 2006.We got the letter saying ppi would run out in july 2007 the letter is on Ge money headed paper and dated 15/6/2007.I have spoken to Gladstone Brooks this morning and they are drafting a letter of complaint.I am now wondering if this Nick Rogers has been on the fiddle although i cannot see how.
