moving out

We are moving out of our rented flat in just under 3 weeks. Our rent is paid up until 17th September. Our landlord has already advertised the property and has been texting me about letting people come round to view it. I told him last night that I wanted to be present for viewings and that he had to give us at least 24 hours notice and then this morning I got a text from him saying someone wanted to view the flat at 6pm tonight. As I had an appointment I told him it wasnt convenient but can anyone tell me where we stand? Do we legally have to allow him to do viewings? Surely it is unreasonable for him to text me a few hours before wanting me to show someone around?
Also we have stuff everywhere at the moment as we are preparing to paint the walls. There are greasy marks on the walls where we put posters up so we are having to paint to cover them up. We have been living in the property for 4 years now, are we obliged to paint the skirting boards aswell? some of them are scuffed as they had originally been painted with a cheap paint anyway. We also have an area next to the front door where all the paint has come off the walls, this is due to cold spot as it is next to an external entrance, are we obliged to cover this up?
Because of the design of our flats the bathroom window opens into a central area so we have mould on the bathroom ceiling even though we open the window as soon as we have had a shower, could the landlord claim it is our fault?
We want to do everything possible to get our full deposit back but as he is already deducting £85 for cleaning the carpets (this was in our contract) we dont want to loose anymore.

Have you informed the Landlord in writing with proof of posting ( keeping a copy yourself ) about the damp in the bathroom ?
Did the Landlord have a professional check in Inventory done ? Which you have signed 4 years ago ! Not just a list with Bed, Wardrobe, Dinning Table etc.
Refuse all deductions and put in a claim for a full refund of the deposit with the DPS
It is up to the Landlord to prove damage above fair wear and tear.
After 4 years the Landlord cannot claim for new carpets only a very small percentage as carpets over 4 years old and then only if he can prove damage, cuts, rips or burn marks

The £85 charge could be deemed Unfair terms and conditions in the contract.
If you clean the carpets and they are clean and dust free after using a Hoover how can the Landlord demand £85.
Hire a rug doctor and DIY ( keep proof of hire )
Up to you if you allow viewings
    Do you need a reference.
Claim deposit from DPS asap once you move out
