Anyone moved from ESA to Income Benefit? (carers allowance)

My husband has just been awarded PIP (enhanced daily living rate)
He has been receiving CB ESA for almost a year now he then received another letter saying that his ESA claim has changed from CB ESA to joint IB ESA and will continue (even after the 365 days)
I've applied for Carers Allowance (which from what i've seen online i 'should' be entitled to as my husband is receiving PIP and i care for him for longer than 35 hrs per week.
My question is that can we swap from ESA to Income Support? and has anyone done this?

You can't make a fresh claim for IS on grounds of disability.
You can in principle claim IS/CA.0 -

I wouldn't be doing it on grounds of disability, i would be doing it for me (if i am awarded carers allowance?)0
