Holiday while on work programme

Comments

  • I have been advised by the job centre to inform the work programme before I go away because she said they do not speak to each other. She was unsure though if they could refuse my request which is why I've come on here to see if I could get an answer.

I got the form yesterday so I will fill it in and give everyone notification in advance.

    Thanks for your help.

I would do belt and braces if I were you and notify the work programme provider and the JCP.

The provider guidance suggests that you notify them as a change of circumstance and they notify JCP - but if JCP say they don't talk to each other there is no hope!
  • I am definitely playing it safe and notifying everyone myself!

40 hours per week thats 24 minutes per job application

No one can find a job then write out a quality application every 24 minutes.

You are assuming the JCP and work programmes are rational.

The point is to get you a a job. Any job.
They believe it's applying for as many as you can that will land you a job rather than getting a job based on your skills.
They also assume employers are stupid and will take on anyone and anything! If you can land a job selling your body, quite frankly, as long as you pay TAX it's A OK!

People voted these people in with their so called reforms. This is what everyone got.

I have actually considered getting naked on camera rather than ever have to claim JSA. THAT is the whole idea behind reforms.
The more I live the more I am shocked by ignorance, the more I realise we as a human race are doomed because of the chains we continue to wear.
People need to open their minds to the myriad of possibilities even in traditional circumstances. If I could delete my MSE account I would.

I've been around this board for the last couple of days and I'm convinced this is your WUM 'Andy'.

100 jobs a week? Pull the other one.

What? I'm not sure what WUM is or who 'Andy' is but I can assure you I have been told to apply for 100 jobs per week.

Hmm, just like idiots such as redcard, ronaldmcdonald and missbiggles are one and the same person.
  • So applying for 100 jobs per week seems to have worked as I have just been offered a job. Pile em high and sell em cheap. Now I am going to be signing off soon so wondered if anyone knows the legalities of signing off of the work programme? Obviously I will be signing off from Job Centre Plus but do I have any obligation to give any details of my new employer to the Work Programme provider?
