I am exceedingly blessed.
Dd went back to school and had a great day. She is now playing over the fence with the little girl next door, full of happiness and bounce-ability. She IS tired, so should go to sleep ok.
I cycled to work again - my Garmin says I used over 1200 calories. Hmmm - wonder if it thinks I'm running instead...?! But the weather's been friendly and the journey smooth.
I have another NSD under my belt, and have done over 10k steps and eaten 10 veggies.
The company who manage the grounds where we live have removed the huge sycamore tree that was overhanging so much of our tiny garden. Now I can plan things to grow in it again!
I completed a certain piece of analysis at work - deadline is tomorrow, so am happy. And I had a lovely day of teaching.
Some bunny legs and arms have been stuffed - may even finish some completely tomorrow.
I am very grateful for my health, for dd's improving health (and thank you for all the well wishes), for dh going out tonight so I'll have a peaceful evening, for great pupils who want to learn, for evoo and its marvellous moisturising properties.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Thanks for the thoughts all. Mums op was over 9 hours long, but they managed to remove the tumour whole. Next up chemo tablets, and a 3 week wait to find out further steps. She is home safe after a night in the hospital and obviously knocked for 6 and very tired. Really wishing I was closer to home right now.
SOA, may the force be with you and your mum. Really hoping for a good outcome for her. Even if it is the dreaded C, it can be beaten. Look after yourself, eat well, don't worry about too many what-if's and focus on positivity and strength right now. Lots of hugs! Feel better.
I went into a supermarket starving at lunchtime and came out £17 lighter with super reduced price superglue and sharpies amongst my purchases for my xmas cards. Still I am very unhappy with myself. A lot of that money was junk food. That will teach me to oversleep, jump out of bed, through the shower, moisturise, make up, teeth brushed, work gear on & out of the door within 11 minutes, grabbing a banana and a pack of supernoodles for food on the way.
I am going to sleep! Night all. Keep on trucking squizzels!

lilt and soa we are all thinking of you and your mothers. Remember to try to take time for yourself, even if it is only a few minutes here and there.
I am over budget. DS1 was going out to buy himself a sandwich and asked if there was anything I needed. He brought the carrots and apples I couldn't get yesterday plus a couple of other things so £5.53 spent. He also took a few things down to the little house (DS2's school photo and an old skateboard deck - if he's moving out he can take all his stuff - and a number of smoke fume ridding things, I have decided he can pay for those as well).
DS2 phoned to thank me, was very polite, he may not be moving out on Monday as he has found an even better flat (or maybe someone wanted a reference?). New job is going well - they wouldn't give him a polo shirt on his first day (but had given him all the door codes). He now has a shirt, an insulated mug to drink his coffee on the way to work and will get more shirts and a fleece (all with the company name) next week. Has so far hacked up an Ikeir chair with a £500 price tag and cut up some fabric for a young clothes brand (to test they are fire retardant).
I have plinths in my kitchen, a nearly done fireplace in the dining room (done with a black base and mirrors round the sides, just needs the edges framing to hide all the fire base stuff). I have 3 rooms with laminate floors and neat edging and the doors are back on. DS1 has scrubbed the bathroom tiles from top to bottom and painted the fascia board over the front window.
I have painted 1/2 the back board for the attic stairs (did the bottom half when there were no stairs in the way), painted the paneling in the tiny room again (only used emulsion as I wanted it to dry quickly) and a lot of little jobs. Lovely mrs builder did lots of sweeping and mopping in between other jobs.
Need to be up early as I am being picked up straight after the school run. Physically I am tired but my brain feels very alert and not sleepy. Will try sorting out the odds and ends of old notebooks and bore myself to sleep.

Thank you very much everyone for your thoughts - we found out yesterday that surgery will be on the 30th, so a couple of weeks to wait. I do appreciate all the kind messages!
Spendy day yesterday, including an unscheduled pit stop at Frankie and Benny's for ice cream, but worth it to escape for a few hours and have a break! So last check in before payday tomorrow, still have money in my bank account (!!!) and very much looking forward to being debt free!

Lilt - 9 hours  that is a long time. Fingers crossed for you all.
DD went back to Guides last night and brought home a letter about a camp at the end of October (it will be freezing poor thing) £25 for two nights with food, not expensive at all but just more money to find for kids activities.
I won't be spending today I hope but I need to think back about how many SFD's I have had so far. No I have just remembered I will have to spend on passport photos for DD, she takes the 11+ tomorrow and needs one for her ID card.
I made overnight oats for breakfast today with oats bought from Lidl yesterday, it was blooming awful, how can they go wrong with oats. It doesn't bode to well for the other items I bought.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hooray for Friday! Having said that, this week seems to have gone very quickly without me accomplishing much:(
Spend day AGAIN, as needed bread etc for lunch and some dishwasher tablets. Better than buying a whole lunch out though I suppose. My planning is not great - they are small spends each day, but still spends. :mad:My meal plan had completely forgotton lunches apart from leftovers, which was a bit of a fail.:o
Lilt - so glad to hear your mum is through the op ok:j, hope the next stage goes well. Thinking of you, and please don't be hard on yourself while going through such a difficult time.
Speakingofart - hope you're OK too, it must be a really stressful time waiting for the surgery for your mum. Look after yourself too, glad to hear you have been having a break and trying to include some nice things.
Dolly - good luck for your DD, hope all goes well for her.:)
Calling14 - hope you're still feeling better, I suppose there is a bright side to IBS with the weight loss!;)
Take care all and keep plodding on. I need to remind myself we are turtles as well as squirrels and baby steps will get me there.

Hugs and best wishes to all that are having tough time xx
Sorry for not posting yesterday In laws came for an impromptu visit from up north which was really nice
Today and yesterday have been spendy days ... however have bought a Christmas present and things that were needed, BUT still need to pull the SFD's out the bag to make target.
Exercise is going well managing to run well more like a shuffle around where I live, At least I have noticed my bum has stopped jiggling so much when I run so a BIG positive there.
Trying to stay in the moment but it is hard. I really want to move (we are in rented at the minute) but OH isn't keen and we really can't afford it as we have loans and an overdraft to clear !!! so i have decided I need to prioritise (my OH is really good he spends hardly anything) . here is what we owe
£1500 loan from Mam
£4438 loan from bank (£235 per month repayment)
£500 overdraft (approx depends on the end of the month balance)
I am thinking it's best to over pay the loan and pay it off quicker as we have it over two years. Mam is not desperate for the money back but feel bad for owing it. However really need to curb my spending to ensure we don't keep going into the overdraft.
So I think overdraft and loan .... what are everyone's thoughts please ????
Sorry for the long boring post ... sometimes I feel it's better when i write it downHowever I do have a short memory and will say i am on a saving drive and then half an hour later I say to my OH "can we do this " etc... i am driving myself crazy
Going to have a cuppa and put my feet up got a 12 hour shift tomorrow xx0 -
HAPPY FRIDAY Squizzels!!
I'm up to 7 Sfds :T
I have sat and worked out Christmas gift/ card budgets and have made a new P1nterest board for some xmas makes, so feeling suitably organised (thanks mothernerd for the mini challenge this week!) :santa2:
I have *finally* got a start date for the new job- wednesday! So a nice short week's intro to the job- I am looking forward to getting started though and finally having a proper routine 5 days of the week. As up until now, each eve I have to sit down and write a list of things to do for the following day to make sure I get up each morning and actually get useful bits and pieces done. Oh, and to also have a proper budget again!
I've also had another declutter which has been quite therapeutic and have also completed some more of my futurelearn work! So all in all a productive day!
Sending hugs, strength and positive vibes to any one going through a tough time, feeling a little low, poorly!
Hope you all have a great weekend! I will make sure I check in at least once over the weekend!
