My husband bought a bike from Halfords in July and was in shop and parked for 1 and 1/2 hours, he was in the shop for all this time ordering his bike and was unaware of the time limit in the car park. A private parking company sent a charge of notice for £60 a few weeks ago, we thought this was an unfair fine as he was in the shop the whole time bike hunting. My husband went to the shop and spoke with staff there who remembered him and said they would cancel it for him and not to worry, . Today however we have had a reminder and the fine has increased to £90,
Unsure what to do now.
Husband says he will go to shop tomorrow and speak with staff.and then ignore it. After reading some information on forums I'm wondering if need to write to appeal to this first to them and then to POPLA . Has he hot a case to appeal , should he have read the notices so it's his fault ?
Thanks for any advice :j:j

Please go and read the Newbies Sticky in the Parking Tickets subforum.

This outlines your position and how to go about your POPLA Appeal or other options in considerable detail.

Then if this isn't moved, post your own thread for any follow-up help in that forum.
