You should never call somebody else a nerd or geek because everybody (even YOU !!!) is an
"anorak" about something whether it's trains, computers, football, shoes or celebs

Mc, I do think you should post this in the Techie forum, really. You will have replies in no time over there - at this time there should be quite a few teche peeps in there.

Try the following:
Start>Settings>ControlPanel>AccessibilityOptions...
Make sure all the boxes in all the tabs are unticked and in the Notifications tab, tick everything in the "notification" box.0
