Just off the phone to them and a little bit annoyed with the experience.

Broke my phone screen the other day. Still makes sounds when you turn it on but can't see anything.

Had their cover for approx 4 years with no claims thus far so called in to make a claim.

It turns out, if i stamped on my phone so it couldn't turn on, i'd get a new replacement handset tomorrow. But because i was honest and told the lady it still appears to power up they want to collect it to try and repair the screen instead.

I voiced my concern that it was a bad fall (phone in my pocket when hillwalking and i fell onto some rocks and phone broke my fall) and simply repairing the screen might not be enough as there's no telling what else has been damaged. She claimed it would be tested to ensure all fine before returning it.

The other concerns i had as well is she said i would have to log into a website to wipe my phone remotely or they couldn't proceed with the claim. I advised how would someone do this if they didn't have a PC or internet access. No answer....

She then backtracked and said "90% of the time we just replace the phones anyway so you'll probably get a new one"
This more or less translates to "we should swap it on the same day as there's a 90% chance we can't repair it but we'll try anyway and leave you a week without one instead"

My final concerns were they can't gaurantee a replacement will be the same colour. Mildly annoying but not the end of the world.


What i never asked her though is what happens if the repair work is done and i find out a month or so later that my phone is no longer water resistant due to these repairs (important as it was one of the main reasons i bought it)
