SHS wind post quote

Quote to install a 2.7m SHS vertical windpost in inner skin of a cavity wall:
Supply 2.7m tall, 100x100x5mm SHS windpost, with steel baseplate and top fin plate pre-attached, and shot-fired/spot-welded frame cramps every 440mm
Chase out inner wall bricks to 100mm depth, wide enough to slot in the post
Chase out mortar beds every few courses to enable slotting in of the frame cramps
Fit a 410mm tall padstone below floor level
Bolt the windpost to the padstone and to the upper floor joist, fill the mortar around the frame cramps and around the length of the windpost
Make good the wall (e.g. plaster over)
Is a quote of £1000 too much for this work? Builders will already be onsite doing other work.
What fire protection is necessary (e.g. our RSJ has 25mm of plasterboard to cover it), given that it will be embedded in the wall and plastered over? Or will they have to cover it in some other way?
(If you have no idea what any of the above means, neither did I until yesterday

This was a while ago and not for your application but when we had an extension we needed 1hr of fire protection for the rsj, 1 sheet of regular plasterboard was 30mins so building control wanted two layers of plasterboard.
where are you btw as that will probably affect costs quite a bit.0 -
Scotland. I priced up the materials to a generous £300, so how many builder-hours would £700 buy me?0
