Ford C Max Recall anyone?

Hi, had a letter from Ford, recalling my 06 reg C max for a repair to the Engine cooling fan control module.
Has anyone taken their car in yet? I was just curious how long Ford take to fix the fault. I want to know if I can take the car to the closest Ford dealership myself and wait (if it is less than 30 mins). Or if it is longer, OH could swap cars with me and take it to the dealership by his workplace.
Thanks

I think they did a recall on the Focus diesel for the same problem 2 years back as I remember my B-in-L taking his in.
I know he had to drop it off in the morning and they fitted it in sometime during the day.
Not sure how long the job took, but they did fully valet the car inside and out as part of the job.Never Knowingly Understood.

Ours went in last week and as above dropped it off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon, not a problem for us but if you wanted to sit and wait you may need to speak to the dealership to find out how long it actually takes.0

Took mine in last month. Couple of hours and out again, no charge. Strange it's taken this long to find out, mines a 2006 plate. :cool:0

You've only just been advised?
Have you recently acquired this vehicle? Because the recall was issued Q3 2009. It relates to all Ford Focus models (and derivatives, such as C-Max) fitted with a 1.8L or 2.0L TDCi engine manufactured between February 20, 2004 and May 31, 2006.
In service, Ford found that under certain conditions, salt placed on the road can accumulate causing possible corrosion of electronic circuits which would then malfunction that could ultimately lead to a severe thermal incident.
It should be noted it was an entirely precautionary recall and there had been no known cases in the UK of accidents or injuries being sustained because of this fault.
Owners of vehicles were advised at the time to take their vehicle to a Ford dealer who would repair the fault at no cost. If the vehicle had been taken to a Ford dealer for a service, the dealer should also have checked if the repair had been carried out.
The repair should not take longer than 1 hour, but you should liaise with your local Ford dealer particularly if you plan to wait whilst the repair takes place.0 -
I have had the car nearly three years. My husband has an 07 plate Focus Estate 1.8 TDCI bought just before we bought the C Max. Should he have had a recall notice too?
My letter is dated July 2014. Arrived while we were away so I am just getting around to sorting it out. Will change cars with OH and get him to take it in to dealership nearest his work. Thanks0
