Shared documents folders not refreshing

I share my PC with my wife, it runs XP Home and we both have our own user accounts. In order to access family photos and documents I have saved them all in Shared Documents.
The problem is if I edit the contents of these folders in any way, adding to or deleting files for instance, that the contents of the folders do not refresh automatically. I can refresh manually with F5 but I don't think I should have to!
Is there a way I can get these files to refresh automatically please? Or would I be better off saving the files in my own documents and creating some kind of share on them so that my wife can access them, and if so how do I do this?
Any advice appreciated.

If you make changes to a doc, save and close and your wife opens it up are the changes there or not?0

Hi MrScruffy
When I switch user to my wife's account and check, yes the changes are there. But if I re-name a shared folder under my account it doesn't change name until I refresh though.0 -
Try 199 Enable Folder and Icon Refresh from http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm, instructions at top of that page.0

Hi Chippy
That little tip of yours seems to have worked, by George!
I don't really know what was wrong with my PC but on first examination it now appears to be working properly.
Thanks very much pal.0
