BT Vision - Is it ethernet or wireless?

I've just come to the end of my 12 month broadband contract with BT (there were the cheapest/best deal) at the time.
I'm going to phone them up to see if they can "do me a deal". If I can get a
new V-box installed for free (current charging £30 for set-up) and moved to the cheapest deal I'll stay, otherwise I'm off.
But I'm
(mainly from the ambiguity of the the BT FAQ's) about the positioning of the wireless router and the V-box. Does the router have to be next to the box (thus the TV also) and connected by a ethernet cable? I'd rather have my facts straight before I get put through to someone in Bombay who has less of a clue than me.
So I guess my questions are:
1) Must you have the home hub as a wireless router?
2) Must the V-box be connected by ethernet to the wireless router?
Thanks all

The V box is currently connected to the hub by ethernet. Apparently some people have used other routers in place of the hub. There's a specific bt vision forum on digitalspy if you want more info.0
