Just wanted to share how ridiculous the current UK insurance guidelines are!
I turned 25 last Monday.
My insurance has now dropped from £1000 to £400!
Obviously I'm very happy with the change, but find it ridiculous how I'm less of a risk being one year older!
Anyone else had similar huge decreases in price?

Anytime there is an arbitrary boundary it is easy to take the mick. I doubt whether your maturity increased from 17 years 364 days to 18 allowing you to legally watch 18 Certificate films nor probably did it make a lot of difference to your ability to evaluate issues for the purpose of voting. In principle the 25 limit is there because insurance companies think based on their figures it is the time when boy racers(of both genders these days) start to grow up.0

Are you comparing a quote done to day for the two ages or a quote done last year with a quote done today?
My insurance dropped from £650 last year to £400 this year despite adding on a (mature) learner driver. Lots of people have seen drops in insurance this year, similarly I have an extra years NCD (now 7), my car is a year older and thus worth less, I've owned the car a year longer so considered more used to it now. It could be the crime/ accident rate in my area has also changed though I think its generally a very low crime rate area anyway.0 -

I'm comparing a new policy in June with a new policy taken out last Monday.
I have 3 years no claims and another experienced driver on the policy.
I couldn't actually believe how cheap it was when I did a quote!0 -
I've never met anyone who fully understands the vehicle insurance industry whose name wasn't Sebastian & didn't hang around the Lloyds Market !0
