Hi Everyone,
I've had a break recently from comping and only came back today.
I was just about to ask what's happened to all the ITV comps
So is it only This Morning left (for now)? I couldn't find any other ITV comps.
I may start doing postal comps...2012 wins = £933 :j
2013 wins so far = £4,025 :j
July wins: Holiday to Marbella :j0 -

Tipping Point is going to be a postal too... it seems they didn't get enough complaints when Loose Women first changed to a phone, text & postal comp.0

saves me time as i'll be entering other comps - !!!!!!!! to paying obscene postage and phone rates0

It surprises me they even offered the free option, as there's logic to the argument that a lot of people will risk a few quid on texts or stamps if it gives them a chance to win £30,000 and a car, for instance so why give it away for nothing?
By law they are not allowed to discriminate by favouring the paying entrants so I guess it makes sense to either make it free for all or, more likely, charge everyone.
Annoying but inevitable.
I tend to only text if it's a properly decent prize (which This Morning ones are), and I send four texts from one phone (£6) which gets me the maximum 6 entries. I only do it occasionally if I remember so to me it's worth the risk.
I do the free online entry too, obviously, who wouldn't?Started comping May 2014- 26 wins so far.
Best wins
Baby swimming kit, Kindle Fire HD, VIP Disney on Ice tix, £75 Love2shop vouchers,
November wins
baby snack hamper, Capital One football, deodorant
COMPING GOAL - 50 prizes in 12 months 26/500 -

It's a requirement to comply with the gaming act and they still offer a free* entry route it is just postal instead of web.
Free web entry being featured in the weekly newsletter which goes to many millions along with this
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/Competitions-comping-win
may well have produced an increase in web entries along with, but more importantly, a drop in paid entries - if they don't run at a profit they don't run.
They have tested postal and presumably the extra cost of dealing with them is more than offset by an increase in revenue and covers the reduction in charges they made on multiple paid entries when postal started as well as giving paid entries a much higher chance of winning simply because there will be far fewer free entries.
(*Free doesn't have to have zero cost just no cost beyond the basic charge for using the service)0 -
I emailed to complain and was told they were 'trialing' postal entries instead of online - so maybe if we all boycott the postals for a month we'll get the online back :rotfl:
I don't really see how it benefits them doing this? I don't enter postal comps so don't know much about them, but they don't make any money from them, do they? And surely it's more effort to be sorting through mail than getting a computer system to do it for you?0
