Flashed for speeding in France - how long till ticket arrives?
As title , I was flashed a few miles out from the channel tunnel about 3 weeks ago and have received nothing yet.
I was wondering if others have been caught speeding and how long it took the ticket to get to them? And if I do receive it how does it work - does it go through the british system with fine and points?

AFAIK you will hear nothing, as the French authorities don't have access to the DVLA database.
Others may know better.0 -

This is correct.
http://ec.europa.eu/transport/newsletters/2013/11-08/articles/cbe_memo_en.htmThe main objective of the Directive is to improve road safety by offering a tool for enforcement authorities in the Member State where the offence was committed to pursue the drivers of vehicles registered in other EU Member States when they commit traffic offences.
Ireland and the UK have opted out of being covered by any legislation adopted under Title V of the Treaty (Area of Freedom, Security and Justice), and consequently are not bound by the Directive or subject to its application. However, any of the two Member States can decide to opt in to Title V of the Treaty by notifying the other Member States and the Commission of their decision.0 -
Well this all sounds very positive. Thanks folks0

They'll probably keep a record of the registration should you cross back over into France though, rather than just writing it off.0

You also occasionally get commercial debt collectors buying-up unpaid EU tickets and trying to scare payment out of you with debt collector letters - None of them have any authority to levy payment in the UK, so the pre-POFA advice also applies - IGNORE!0
