People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Since Benders last logged on to the site in August (when this thread was started), I suspect you may wait forlornly for an answer to your question;Brokerwise wrote: »What reason did you or they give for the mis sale of the mortgage ppi ?

I stopped visiting this forum some time ago as the high-handed, self-righteous, holier-than-thou replies I saw to quite simple requests for help & advice made my blood boil.
I thought I'd pop back to have another look and it's exactly the same! The OP here innocently wrote asking for details of others' experience and was immediately berated for all manner of supposed heinous acts.
To those who feel it's their right to rudely criticise (and it's plainly obvious who you are): who on earth are you?! What gives you the right to be so combative toward someone that you have no prior knowledge of?! Why do you put yourselves on a pedestal?!
People, there's far more to life than taking a 10p off beans coupon to Asda, and many millions have achieved more than a silly, silly forum name. Get off your high horses and look at what REALLY matters!!! Oh, and one day, YOU may need some help - how would you feel to be met with YOU & your stinking attitudes?!
Ah well, time to leave the forum once again......
OP signed a contract to say he would pay a claims firm to get back some PPI, they achieved that, he spent the money and is now complaining that they billed him for the money he owes them - what is self righteous about pointing out he needs to pay them?Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

I agree that often many of the posts apparently seeking help are from people who have already been fairly rejected on the basis that they did not have a valid complaint in the first place. I also think people asking for basic information and advice are usually provided this without any negative reaction from respondents.Insider101 wrote: »The site has long since ceased being somewhere that people who have genuinely been mistreated come for advice.
I also suspect that some of the more outrageous threads which are clearly written by apparently "mis-informed" posters are posted simply to provoke a reaction.
As the PPI bandwagon rolls to it's inevitable conclusion, the change in the nature of the forum reflects this.
I do not believe the site as a whole has been affected in this way.0 -

I suggest you complain to enquiries@charterhouseclaims.com with a copy to consumer@claimsregulation.gov.uk thatI too am being harrassed by them. I TOLD them from day 1 I didn't have any PPI claims as I'd done my research, they insisted I should let them try and find something so I said try, you wont find any. They think they've found one, I've told them it's not misold it's my mortgage protection plan but now they want to charge ME an admin fee! They will NOT stop calling!
(
1) They have committed a criminal offence by attempting to incite you to commit fraud by making a complaint that a PPI policy was missold when you know it was not.
2 They have committed a criminal offence by harassing you for payment because you refuse to comply with their demands to commit fraud.
Demand that the matter is dealt with in accordance with their compliants procedure and request appropriate compensation for the distress you have been caused.0
