    I completely agree that our agreement says they'll attempt to take payment via another method.

    Regarding the behaviour comment, I'm specifically referring to the fact that they're legally obliged to inform me of the payment change. If they had followed this obligation the situation would have been avoided. Therefore the fault should be theirs?

    TonyMMM I actually thought I was setting it up on their behalf, not mine. I wasn't selling hosting to anyone, just setting it up for some acquaintances. All of this is on personal bank accounts.

    How did they link your bank account details to the account the cancelled card was registered with? I can only assume you registered their card details against an account in your name.

    If you have an account that has card details from many different people or businesses registered against it then you have technically agreed that the hosting company can charge ClientA if ClientB cancels his card. That's probably something you want to avoid!

    As much of a fool as I've been getting into this, thankfully I didn't go as far as to have several other people's payment methods in there. Pretty unimaginable!
