    Hello,

May I echo Maddiemay's suggestion of Lush? There are a lot of male assistants as well as female ones, you can have a play with the treatments in the shop and they give excellent advice without pressurising you to buy stuff. They will also willingly give you free samples to try before you invest in a purchase. Their products last a long time and a little goes a long way. Plus they have an extensive range of products aimed at men. If I had the money I can honestly say that I would live at that place and I did pre son and pre mortgage! I did get some curly wurly shampoo for Christmas but I only use it on my son - I just sniff it in the shower! :rotfl:

Lush Fresh Farmacy is meant to fab for those prone to spots https://www.lush.co.uk/products/cleansers/fresh-farmacy

For quicker alternatives, there is a good Clearasil scrub that will have the skin much clearer and much less spotty within 24-48 hours

is that true though? i know if i don't use moisturiser my skin goes into oil overload, trying to make up for the lack of moisture? i definitely wouldn't use a heavy cream on hormonal skin but you can get light or medicated moisturisers too.

I tried all sorts when I was a teenager. Moisturiser I would say is a definite no no. It will block the pores and teenage skin is unlikely to be dry anyway.

I found the best regime was to use soap and water twice a day, op and of particularly bad then use clearasil pads and/or tea tree oil as well.

I used to also put a boiling hot flannel on any huge whiteheads to encourage them to burst then squeeze out all the pus. Not sure with hindsight that this was the best thing to do but it seemed to work for me at the time.
  • Speak to someone on a Clinique counter - there's a men's range or you could try their anti-blemish range. I worked for them a few years ago, have worked for other cosmetics companies in the meantime and they are still the only one I think was any good. They'll give you some samples if they have any too and you can buy the anti blemish routine in a pack so you get all the bits in smaller sizes a bit cheaper as well.
  • Boots No. 7 mens range or Liz Earle Men's range - I recommend both & if you get a good moisturiser it should never clog the pores!

  • Nivia cleanser put on dry skin and then wiped off with cotton balls, i sometime have to do it 2 or three times after getting off the tube from work, but my skin is so much clearer if i do it everyday.

Lotus oil from Clarins is amazing for a moisturiser, both myself and bf use it, we have notice such a difference in our skin. Hope this helps :)

When I was younger my mum took me to the body shop and although I have tried other brands I always go back. From a kids perspective the are easy to use and work. My son is 11 and uses the all in one style face wash and cleanser. Lush is also excellent and they work! I never had spots even when most of my friends looked like pizza's.
