Help with formal pet letter

Hi guys - much need guidance and advice (not sure if this is the right thread)

We bought our leasehold maisonette a few months ago and are now looking to get a cat, as stated in our lease agreement this has to be agreed in writing by the lessor beforehand. Just need to ideas to help draft a letter to sound hopefully as convincing as possible, details about house are as follows:

-Maisonette (technically a house) on the ground floor with own front door on the road and small back garden, its only a leasehold because its in a big terraced block (converted warehouse) and there is a flat above us.
-We do all our own internal decoration work and own the lease - the condition of the property for sale would be up to us
- We are looking to get 1 small house cat which would not be allowed outside (no noise disturbance to neighbors etc)

Any ideas?

H :D:D

    Dear Sir,

Pursuant to clause <number> of our lease for the dwelling and land known as <address> I have hereby the honour to humbly request your permission to keep a Felis Catus on the said demised land.

Please rest assured that we would do our outmost to prevent any damages and nuisance, and that we would take the necessary measures to prevent the animal from breeding.

In the hope of your positive reply, we remain, Sir, yours faithfully.

  • We rented a flat once and the owner asked the management agency for permission for us to bring our cats. They charged her £150 admin fee and said yes! We paid it as the flat was perfect and it's hard enough to find a rental that takes pets. I wanted to ask for evidence of the administration work required!
  • Just get the cat, dont worry about the permission. It will become a problem only if someone complains about it which is quite unlikely. If you go about asking for permission they will most definitely charge an admin fee to process your request which I think would be a total waste of money in this instance.

Make sure you get a lazy indoor-suitable breed.

Most breeds of cats will get exceptionally frustrated locked in all the time.
