Home Purchased...Now found cracks up the wall!

Hi this is my first post, so sorry if I'm in the wrong section.
I moved house nearly 4 weeks ago, only had a basic survey done at the time as advised by mortgage advisor, house is only 20 years old.
Anyway yesterday came out the front door and shut it behind me, only to notice a hair line crack goin up the wall through the mortar and bricks, wall moves slightly when shutting the door...its a porch type arrangement that consists of front door, downstairs toilet window and garage, the main house is set a couple of feet back from this.
My question is where do I go from here, do I get in touch with a builder, will be home insurance be able to help???
Any advice much appreciated

Get a professional (or a few) to take a look, it may be superficial.Thinking critically since 1996....0

As above. My gut instinct is that if it's a porch type of thing, separate from the main structure of the house, then it's likely to be superficial rather than serious, but it's impossible to be sure without seeing it. Ask friends and neighbours to recommend a trustworthy builder, get him to have a look.0

Go to a builder, whatever you do do not get insurance involved. I am not trying to worry you but get the builder to check its not subsidence first. We nearly bought a house that had a history of subsidence and I can't tell you the problems we would have had trying to re-sell it. Once its been marked as having anything done relating to subsidence its hell to get rid of, its like buying a CAT C car. I doubt its anything serious but just get a local builder in to check first.0
