Tesco's ruddy pharmacy.
Called in for a prescription at 5.30, I knew that it was a possiblity they may not have it in, so I asked to make sure. Lady assured me all was ok and told me there was a ten minute wait. 5.50 I still hadnt been called so handed my slip in again to the lady. She went into the back and returned saying it wasnt yet ready.
By 6.15 I was getting majorly annoyed. asked yet again where my prescription was only for the pharmacist to come out and tell me that actually it was out of stock. I pointed out that I had been stood waiting for 45 minutes for this, to which he lied and said I had been called, impossible I told him as I hadnt actually moved from the pharmacy counter!
So, 6.20pm, the rest of the local pharmacies that stand a chance of having it in are closed. So, no meds for me.
I am furious. I can understand them not having it and thats not my gripe, my gripe is that they assured me they had it then left me stood like an idiot for 45 minutes only to admit they havent.
I have logged a complaint with CS and asked for a written reply. If it shakes the pharmacy staff up it was worth it.

Exactly! It was a flouride soloution prescribed my my dentist so I knew it may not be in stock, but I specifically asked first and was told it was.
I have better things to be doing with my life than watching the pharmacy clock for 45 minutes!0 -
which store was it?0

I'm confused.... if you thought in the first place that they wouldnt have it in, why go there?
Maybe what the lady told you that it was in was quite correct but that it was then out of stock as someone had a similar prescrip?
And had they not had in stock, doesnt that mean you would have gone to some other pharm... and whats to say the same wouldn't happen?
I have to admit saying that you were called was a bit stupid and tactless, but maybe given the time of day there was a baacklog of who popped in last minute.0 -
Well you did get something from the chemist........ a headache!0

I went there because it was the most likely of all the local pharmacies to have it in stock. Its not your run of the mill item and as I said there was a possibility none of the pharnmacies I visited would have it.
Having stood in the queue and watched people come and go I can say without a doubt nobody else had it. Dental scripts are yellow. Everyone else was handing in green scripts.
Had they not had it yes, I would have gone elsewhere, however, I would have liked the opportunity to try elsewhere rather than stand like an idiot for 45 minutes in Tesco, which by this time the other chemists were closed.
Funny thing was, there didnt appear to be a backlog. People were coming in, handing over scripts and being told ten minutes and actually getting their items.0 -
Why didn't you go back to the counter at 5:40 (the end of the ten minute waiting time) and then again at 5:45 rather than waiting a total of 45 minutes? You could have saved yourself half an hour if you'd been more on top of them.
I would never sit there for 25 minutes waiting for something I didn't trust they actually had!0 -
She asked when she went in if it was in stock and was told it was.....so i would of done the same and trusted them!
Hope you get the outcome you desire!0
