A belated warning to others. Discovered at the 11th hour that although I had had a form from CPP to claim against this policy, my partner hadn't. This was because theirs was not sold over the phone and that they had to contact their bank direct. This was not easy as all avenues I tried led back to CPP. Eventually I got through to an advisor at the bank by answering as if I was NOT claiming an insurance refund. They will be writing to me within the next 12 days and then phoning me within 5 days to fill out a 'simple form'. The observant among you will notice that that is well outside the claim period, so I have asked for them to make a note on the file that we are worried about that and I will be ringing them again in two days. I know I can complain to the Ombudsman if they turn me down. Is there anything else I should be doing?

You cannot claim from the CPP refund scheme after 30th August. However, it sounds as if you were talking to your Bank rather than CPP in which case you have no such deadline.Goblindancer wrote: »I got through to an advisor at the bank ... If it is the CPP Helpline you will be ringing then it will be too late in two days.Goblindancer wrote: »I will be ringing them again in two days.
Not if your complaint is too late you can't.Goblindancer wrote: »I know I can complain to the Ombudsman if they turn me down
You really need to ascertain exactly who you were calling; was it "the Bank" or CPP?0
