I have just got a dyson from a kind lady on freestyle. I have tried and failed to tilt it back it to vac position.
Can't find a button or lever at all. Anyone know how to do it please

Picture shows foot operated button on the left hand side, sold ours about 12 years ago and can't actually remember.0

This shows it being on the left side, near the front?0 -
The exploded view on the Dyson web site shows someone with their foot on the left hand side of the base and moving the handle towards them, perhaps someone's nicked your button. As above:)0

We used to have a DC04.
As far as I remember there was no button but just you had to put your foot on the front where there was a flatter bit on the corner, push down with your foot just to keep the weight, and then kind of push the handle to the upright position.
It was a while ago though.0 -
Ooh that rings a bell, I had a Dyson donkey's years ago, so can't even remember the model number, but yes, its a depression on the front left corner to put your foot on while you pulled the handle back.
They can be a pain, I met someone who had bought a Dyson, used it once, then put it in the loft because they couldn't find out how to open the drum to empty it! When I showed him how easy it was his face was a picture!0 -
No worries I have one. If you look at it front on, just above the corners on each side at the bottom is a sort of curved cut out which looks like it is part of the design. What you do is put the front of your foot on one of these curves, does not matter which, press down with your foot so that the machine cannot move and then pull the arm back at the same time. This lowers the arm. Put it back to upright when you have finished and it will lock back in place. It will be obvious once you see how it works. Problem solved0
