Turkey - Bodrum / Gumbet - any advice?

Hello!
DH and I are off to Turkey in a few weeks, staying in Gumbet. I was wondering if anyone had any reccommendations of things to do / places to see etc?
We're staying all inclusive but would like to see something of the country. DH dives and we both love the water.
We are thinking of doing a day trip to Ephesus, any reccommendations?

Also, can anyone tell me what type of adapters I need for plugs?

We've never been so any comments will be gratefully received!

    Hi
I'm going next week we go every sept, where are you staying?
have you done your visas on line? it's cheaper if you do than getting them when you get there, I did ours last night.
Only get them from this site,

Normal 2 pin adaptors, if you like a drink, spirits are expensive over there, so we always take a bottle of duty free with us.

Sorry I can't give loads of details- I am at work-

    http://www.aegeanprodive.net/

"Welcome to the Aegean Pro Dive Centre in Bodrum!

We celebrate the 20th year of operation, with an international PADI and CMAS instructor and divemaster crew, who are dedicated to the highest standards of excellence, service and safety."

Absolutely brilliant with very high standards- will be diving with them again in a few weeks!
  • I love Gumbet and Bodrum, I used to live there and we still go back for our holidays most years. We have just come back last week.

There are lots of places where you can book trips, don't book through your rep as they always overcharge. Yes, you can go to Ephesus, either as a day trip or in combination with a trip to Pamukkale, this is a 2 day trip. You can also do jeep safari, village tour, boat trip etc. You can also get the bus into Bodrum, which is just 10 minutes away, the buses run every 5 - 10 minutes all through the day and most of the night. From Bodrum you can get a bus to all the other resorts on the peninsula.

There are a couple of diving schools in Gumbet and plenty of places to do water sports.

    Where are you staying?

As mentioned above, don't forget to get your e-visa in advance from the official site only. Change your money out there for the best rate, there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants that will exchange.

If there is anything else you want to know just ask :)
