This Default... what to do?

Very confusing for me.

Is this a "settled" default, that will just dissapear after 6 years, or is it going to continuously bite me in the !!!? I phoned up EON about a year ago to see what could be done about it, and they told me they had written it off so it was nothing to do with them anymore.

It's such an !!!!, as my entire file is flawless except for this, where I stupidly let an old flatmate of mine "organise" payment of the bills. I only realised it existed when I opened an Equifax account late last year.

Basically my partner and I are looking at getting a mortgage in circa. 2 years, and it would be awful if this caused us any problems with it.

edit: it has told me I cannot post with links due to being a new user... any way I can alter that so I can post the image?

    Good morning nlmkiii,

I wanted to try and give you a bit of information about how we deal with credit reference agencies.

When we share information, we give a true reflection of the status of an account at the time of the share. At this time, if there's a debit balance on an account and no formal payment arrangement, we'll share this.

We started sharing information with Equifax during the second half of 2012.

Green months are where there's a payment arrangement in place and payments are received on time. Red months indicate an outstanding balance with no or a failed payment arrangement.

If the information shared was right at the time, this won't be changed as it'll have been a true reflection of the account at the time of the share.

Once cleared, we'll share an 'S.' This will show the debt has been cleared and will reduce the impact.

Datashare queries are dealt with by our Director's Office (contact details are on the bills). Might be an idea to talk directly to Equifax too.

    Hope this helps to explain.
