Claiming PPI with no paperwork or account details!!!

My hubby was useless with money before he met me and had various loans and credit cards dating back to 1990!!! He has no records of these but knows there were loans from Lloyds and Amex / Barclaycards. He would definitely have had PPI but does he have ANY hope of reclaiming with no paperwork etc???!!?
Thanks in advance for any advice! 😊

He can send Subject Access Request (SAR) letters to each of his lenders at a cost of £10 for each. However, records are generally only kept for six years-so it's a gamble, especially for finance from 24 years ago.0
