Part exchange for new build in current market

Hi,

I have been reading a few older threads here about the pros and cons of buying a new build property and part exchanging existing properties.
I have been looking at a new house and have decided to see if I can part exchange - I have a valuation booked in for tomorrow.

Reading older threads (2012 and before) most people suggest a deal is not possible on the new house when part ex-ing, but some people also said they had received good deals.
In the current climate (an improving market) and a development that I know has a lot of interest do people think there is any likelihood of getting a deal on the new house?
Any ideas on how I should go about negotiating a deal?

Does anybody have any recent experiences they could share?

Thanks

Deals on new builds seem to have mostly gone out of the window at the start of the year. Some standard incentives are still lingering, like carpets and turfing included, but other than that, it's a buying frenzy (at least in the South-East) and houses are selling faster than they can build them, so why reduce their margins?

I part ex in October last year on a site that are selling pretty well. Couldn't knock anything off the market price and only managed to get carpets to staircase and top floor (3-storey). They did give me a good price for part ex and ended up selling it at £16k less than what they offered me.
