Prepaid Credit Card

Hello,

I'm EU resident, but not UK.
Looking for a prepaid credit card, to apply online, an alternative to viabuy, that can be loadable through wire transfer.

Need this for online payments and travel occasionally.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks!

  • There is no such thing as a "Prepaid Credit Card". Either you mean a "Prepaid debit card" or an "Unsecured Credit Card". For the former, you can see the corresponding page on MSE. For the later, they are not being offered in the UK anymore.

Capital One do have a Secured Credit Card. Just do a quick check from their website and if you are not eligible for a normal card, they'll offer it.

    Edit:
Found a direct link (don't know if it will work in another computer):

Thank you for your post. I am aware of their secured credit card product. From my experience not everyone will get it when applying for it, which contradicts with its purpose.

    Secondly, the OP requires:
that can be loadable through wire transfer

    Have a look at Skrill...

Easy to load money, then pay an annual fee for their "prepaid card" which you can use to spend up to your account balance.

Just applied for Skrill. Do know if they have any limits?

I understand that if it's prepaid, there is not credit ;)

Although, I usually refer to credit card, as an embossed visa or mastercard vs standard debit cards which usually I cannot use for online transactions. Anyway, since I'm not from UK, I would rather would like something international, as UK card issuers usually require residence in UK.

    Thanks.

You can use debit cards online no problem. Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc, are all payment and settlement networks and any type of payment card (credit, debit, charge, etc) can be used over their network.

Try neteller.com as they provide a prepaid debit card in pound sterling even if you reside outside the UK.
