Issue with work hours

I don't think I'd do that amount of work for any salary!
If you read what i said, i've never said it is a good salary for the hours i've just never thought of it that way, ive always thought of it as though i earn a decent salary for my lifestyle and just wanted some flexibility, i.e i do 50 hours over one week, then i get 50 hours back, that's all ive been wanting from day one, not extra money, etc as i've never even considered the financial aspect of it.
Now it's been pointed out to me, yes, it's roughly minimum wage if that and yes i agree, i'm being taken advantage of.0 -
You probably think its good OP as you never have time to spend the money.......
Look for another job...if you have time

This is genuinely one aspect of it yes, i literally never have time to spend because i have no time outside of work. It's really ridiculous the more i think about it. I'm literally looking for work as we speak. Had enough now.

How long has this situation been going on?0

Whenever a management position comes up at work I'm asked if I am applying. My answer is always the same.......No as it is salaried my hourly rate would drop. The amount of extra unpaid hours the managers do is ridiculous.
I've been where the OP is both with companies who are decent (yes take your appointment as unofficial TOIL we appreciate the extra you do) and the petty attitude of his employer. Frankly that's a friendship I'd be questioning.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

You seem like a nice guy but I think you are exaggerating these hours.
100 hours a week for 2 years.
We have no idea what your commute is, but odd hours a day to get to and from work and find some sleep in-between.
You need to man up, speak to your boss and HR to sort this out..
If they cannot even spare you 30 minutes then look for another job, they clearly don't value you or your input. I'm certain if you left - the backfill wouldn't work 100 hours a week for 40k!0 -

It sounds as if you are working so many hours, you don't have time for a 'lifestyle'
You'll end up ill or dead.
Good luck.....make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I think you need one department/person to be sorting out your extra hours and your time off. At the moment it sounds like HR are involved when you're taking time off and your boss is the one you talk to about extra hours. Presumably HR does see your extra hours if you're clocking in and out but it doesn't seem like they do anything about it.
Can you go and talk to them and ask them why they are only looking at part of the picture? If it's their job to sort out time away, it's also their job to sort out overtime.0
