dirty grouting between floor tiles

Have just moved to a house with big kitchen and has lovely kitchen floor tiles. Very shiny and undamaged but grubby grouting. Probably this is wear and tear and nothing you can do? I wondered about a toothbrush and bleach but probably take me a year! Is it one of those things that you just have to accept if light coloured grouting has been used?
Have posted separately about a steam cleaner. Don't expect that to get the grouting clean but perhaps would have kept floor clean if one had been used from the beginning?!
Thanks

John Lewis do a decent size grout brush and Oxo have one too. I'd try one of these with a thick paste of bicarbonate of soda to scrub the grouting. I use this on my bathroom tiles in the shower and it brings them up a treat. I've found that my steam mop makes the grouting between floor tiles loose so now avoid using it in the bathroom.0

You will be far better off by removing the old grout and then re-doing in a darker colour if that's acceptable, ie, light grouting isn't suitable.
It's a mechanical job I'm afraid, but would probably take no more than the time it would take to scrub with a tooth brush.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
