steam mop

going to buy a steam mop, never had a mop before of any type! Hands and knees on kitchen floor before, but now moved up in the world and have large tiled bathroom and kitchen floors... my friend has this one and likes it
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Portable-Purpose-Cleaner-Steamer-Upholstery/dp/B00HPZK8QO/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top does anyone else have a steam mop they can recommend? Want one that works well, doesn't break down after 3 months doesn't leave floors too wet, stores easily and is light enough to use elsewhere around the house when used as a hand cleaner. Do not plan to use on clothes or carpets.
Many thanks

  • This is the most commonly found steam mop out there, I have the same (only white). I have it for a month, so I can't say if it's going to break soon, but right now I'm satisfied with it. I've never had a steam cleaner of any sort before and people are right when they say steam cleaning is most effective and healthy for every household. There's no way not to leave the floors a little wet, it's steam. It stores in a closet no problem and I'd say it's light, I can easily use it with one hand. Of course, there always are more expensive ones that provide more quality, on the price you'll have to choose yourself :)

I have had a massive series of failed floor steamers, mostly |Vax 1's which for me have been useless, most failing withing 1 or 2 uses.

Went for an Abode model earlier this year, cheap and still working.

This really seems to be an area where more expensive certainly doesn't guarantee better reliability.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

I have that one. It worked fine for 6 months, then broke. I rang up and they offered to replace it right away, I didn't even have to dig out the old receipt or anything. The second one has been going strong almost 2 years now I think.

I really like it, it's a great tool for tiled floors, I don't tend to use it for much else mind you.

I have the Shark slim one. The first Shark one I owned (purple) had a pump action which broke the spring on the mop head pretty quickly. The new version I have now doesn't have a pump action so problem solved. I'm happy with mine now.
