Well, I was having a courgette for my tea
until I went to pick one. It's growing in a pot with copper tape round. If this is slug damage, it's not a slug I'm planning to get anywhere near on a dark night.
What do you reckon?

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I've had slugs nibble at several of my courgettes, but generally the eaten bits are smaller and it takes them a while to make a dent that size (I leave the partially eaten ones on the plant because then the slugs go back to it rather than attack a new one). Did that happen overnight??Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0

No, over a couple of days. One small nibble one day which I reckoned I could leave as it wasn't too bad. Then the next day this was the damage. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I've had something similar and put it down to mice. They have also had a go at our radishes this year.0

I had some similar nibbles on mine, but as there were no slug trails at all on the courgette or plant, I also assumed that it was a mouse doing the damage.0

Mice..........I have had terrible trouble with them in my garden this year.
Eating cabbage &all sorts of things......
I have caught 23 mice up to now this year !!!0 -
I think they're starting to wander inside early as well this year. Caught the first attic one yesterday. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I had mine affected on allotment when they first bared some courgettes, but don't seemed to touch them now. I tried and keep courgettes slightly off ground but with the abundance of veg its a heavy task. I have had blooming loads this year out of just 2 plants and one marrow.0

Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0
