2014 TAX CREDITS RENEWAL- 8 weeks

Just wondering if I am the only one left not heard back from tax credits. Have called them 2 or 3 times and they have advised it is waiting to be processed and thats it. No letter received asking for anything and nothing asked over the phone. I had received a provisional award in december 2013 with an amended amount due to income change(not sure if mines is delayed due to this being active). That finishes in October but I thought I still receive a reply to my renewal. It is annoying as a little more info than it is being processed would be nice. This is the thing though because you are claiming, I feel the staff on the other end do not feel they need to be co-operative or helpful(go that extra mile!!)Very frustrating as I just want to make sure I am getting the correct amount paid to me!

I got mine back on Saturday, 17 weeks to the day I renewed over the phone. I was told it had been selected for extra checks and it was then referred to TCO at 10 weeks but still took another 7. I had no letters or anything as I was told they were checking internally and would be able to access the info they needed. I'm sure you will hear soon but don't worry if it takes a bit longer it should be done eventually. I was told not even to call back as once it's been referred the helpline wouldn't know anything x
  • Thanks guys for your help but can't help being concerned. I understand things can take time although I have never had to wait this long before.

Totally appreciate what your saying BlondBubbles but don't think we have much patience and 8 weeks for me is pretty long. If it had taken the same amount of time every year, it probably wouldn't bother me.

Not sure if recent changes(Rti and Universal Credit)is the reason for this. I think it is better if they are honest and tell people they either have a backlog or system updates.

Wow 17 weeks is long flump75! ! Do you know have any idea why they may have took so long?

Mine was 8 weeks last week, I rung them last Thurs to be told it had been finalises the previous day.... They had however completely ignored the figures I gave them! Gave correct figures over phone and think all done now!
