Sorry if this is in wrong place!

Can someone tell me if Arbroath, Angus in Scotland is in the "Highlands" or UK? (for Postal services)

No Arbroath is not in the Highlands. You would address it as Scotland, UK.

Nowhere near the highlands, standard postage charges here :-)

You don't need to put Scotland or UK, just Arbroath and the post code.

Put the address in to the recently much improved RM postcode/ address finder

    this is correct :).
  • Arbroath is on the East Coast, 15 miles to the north east of Dundee. Home of the well known 'Arbroath Smokie' ( Smoked Haddock)

No it isn't! County names have been redundant since the introduction of postcodes some 40 years ago. Arbroath is covered by the Dundee postcode (DD).

Geographically, the highlands is a wooly and undefined boundary. It can be west and north of the Great Glen (running from Ft William to Inverness). North of the Campsie Fells (just north of Glasgow) if you are a WHISKY drinker for a highland malt or blend. Or if a courier - it's anywhere they want to double the postage costs.

Most couriers consider anything north of Aberdeen to be highlands, but a more accurate definition is anything north of the Highland boundary fault. Arbroath is neither.

My sister lives there and that is her address, yes its a DD [Dundee]postcode but that covers a huge area.

My postcode is S66 which covers a large area Sheffield/Rotherham but only one of those two areas forms part of my address.
