I assume AJAX is an acronym but I can't work out what it stands for. I do know what it does though - it forces most people to send in documents to the great black hole that is the two Wolverhampton mail sorting centres. The mail received by these two mail sorting centres is then sorted by postcode and is then sent to Kidderminster and Telford where it is actually opened before being forwarded to the relevant benefit office. As you can guess, there is much scope for mail going missing as a result... and all the while the amount of AJAX appointment slots available at local JCP's are being drastically reduced.0 -
It has been suggested in the past that each JobCentre have a box where medical certificates can be dropped off and then forwarded to the Benefit Centre overnight by courier. The problem is that you would get people dropping urgent certificates in the box and then complaining that they hadn't been paid the same day.
The 'easy way' for the DWP is to do everything on an appointment basis.
Sadly it's the same old story the world over - a very small minority create a problem and the majority suffer because of it.0 -
