New House, New Mortgage!

So yesterday my mum was out so I went to have a look at the garden centre, I have had my eye on getting a magnolia tree for a while, looking online they are around £60 for a decent sized one, though I remembered they had them last year at this garden centre! Ended up with a gorgeous magnolia tree which is over 6ft and a little bushy with buds and a Prunis variety unknown (I accidently broke about a foot off getting it into the boot!!) which was £14 with blossoms all over and is over 7ft tall! Amazing! Also bought a cute tiny dragon which I have named Smoky. Both trees have survived the strong winds last night which puts them in good sted!
We have got, two unknown trees, cherry, peach, plum, hazel, contorta, pear, two eating apples one cooking apple, two types of willows, a battered tiny elderflower (which is only a foot tall!) Magnolia, Autumn Blaze Acer, Silver Alba and two Prunis trees! Oh and 8 trees that line the bottom of the field which are huge, over 30feet tall easily! The woodland is coming along nicely.
Spare room has finely been painted and finished, was painful and in the end the painter used a different orange as the orange we had just looked streaky and awful, it looks great now! Our room will be finished on Easter Monday, will be good to have the room back properly, on Friday he finished the ceiling and cut in with the grey which is darker than I thought but with the white eaves looks amazing!

Bedroom has been painted! Yay! Still need to wall paper the one wall which will be next weekend now.
Cooked for my folks and it went down well, they brought a buddlia they dug up from their garden so we have planted this! Have planted some more hedging today and put up the thermometer and outdoor mirror, looks so awesome! All the bulbs are growing nicely, hubby found two wheelbarrows which are broken with no wheels, they will be perfect for filling with plants!
No mortgage news at the moment, with the bank holidays haven't seen the £300 hit yet but have had the latest interest added so will check again tomorrow and see where we are at.
Got another two days off, woohoo!

Hello MT and MFD! I think the diary paints a very rosy view of everything, all the carpets need doing and though the woodland is looking good the field floods in a lot of places!haha. I try and focus on all the awesome stuffs though! No change in balance yet, will ring up tomorrow to check if it hasn't changed at all.
Going to go out for a potter with the dogs, the new trainers have put me off with the huge painful blister they caused. Will be wrapping my heels up in lots of plasters and hoping for the best! Haven't done much walking this weekend at all! Hoping to go on a good walk tomorrow when the car is in for an MOT and Service.

Ahhh, I meant to say, I went on a 20 mile hike once (from couch to 20 miles, my feet were in pieces at the end of it!!!) and I wore a pair of those flimsy little ankle socks and then I put walking socks on top. No blisters at all. My feet were bad based on sheer walking, but no skin was grazed or rubbed off. The under socks were really thin and cheap. I don't know if that may help you, but I was recommended to do that by women who went on regular treks.

Ohh that is really interesting MT! I wonder if it helps reduce the friction! I will try this, got my hubby to do my laces today and having them looser around the balls of my feet but very tight around the ankle did help, only did a small 1.4miler though, going to try a big old walk tomorrow and see how I get on, do have some ankle socks somewhere though! Hpw was 20miles?! Sounds so painful but very impressive!!
So today we bought new curtains (we were using the original curtains that came with the house), new curtain pole as the old one broke as we were taking it down, lightshade, lamp and blind from the colourmatch range in Argoose, got 25% off and it means we are on track to complete our bedroom after 18months of living here!haha. Also ordered 144breeze blocks and 2tonnes of soil to make the border in the back garden, fingers crossed the lorry will fit down the driveway, hubby will use his ride on lawn mower with little trailer to transport the blocks from the front of the house to the back as I think it would take forever to carry and he is desperate to get on the mower after the Winter! So excited to get some proper colour into the garden with the bulbs and then the trough will be free for the onion, peppers, lettuce and carrots if they grow!
Jodles
PS keep reminding myself it isn't just about paying off the mortgage but making the house our own through decorations and making the garden usable!MFW2020 #115 250/3000 J-250

Curtains don't fit, I seem to have lost the ability to add up! Will exchange them tomorrow, almost got the border done but ran out of bricks, we thought this would happen but should be able to find enough to finish it. Have put loads of cardboard to help kill the grass and weeds underneath which will decay and feed worms as well. Can't wait to plant the bulbs and seeds this weekend!
Did just under 4miles yesterday and feet were not too bad at all! Here's hoping I will be able to get back into more miles! Almost the weekend, have only worked one day this week so far and can't wait for days off!haha. Still not sure if the £300 went in so will have to ring and check, though mortgage will be paid tomorrow, woohoo!
