Blue badge advice

Hi, I recently been awarded standard rate mobility. Waiting to receive the letter. I read that i can have 50% reduction in road tax. How do i claim this please? Tried looking on the net but can only find info for those who have all their road tax free.

Vehicle tax reduction

Eligibility

You can get a 50% reduction in the cost of your tax disc if you get the PIP standard rate mobility component.
You can’t get a reduction for getting the DLA lower rate mobility component.

How to claim

Send all of the following to DVLA Swansea:

• your statement of entitlement (it’s at the end of your PIP award letter)
• the vehicle registration certificate (V5C)
• a V10 form
• an original MOT or GVT certificate (if your vehicle needs one)
• a cheque or payable order (made out to ‘DVLA, Swansea’) for 50% of the full rate of car tax for the vehicle

The half price road tax discount has nothing to do with the blue badge. If your difficulties are to do with actually walking, rather than needing support because you struggle to get around, you may be entitled to a blue badge.

You have to score 8 points or more in the moving around section. It should say on the award letter how many points and the descriptor(s).

Yes i know lol but i titled the thread wrong and couldn't edit it. Was thinking of both probably when i asked the question lol
