TV help please!

We have a TV with built in free view. The TV is connected to the TV point on the wall using a normal cable with the round connectors at the end. We have family staying this weekend and last night my nephew turned the TV off at the wall socket before bed, which we don't usually do. This morning all of the channels had disappeared. We have tried the auto tune function and it can't find any channels (advises on screen to check antenna connection and try again) and it won't find any using manual tuning either. DVDs play fine.
We've tried unplugging everything and starting again, switching it on and off and using a different connection lead in case that was it.
We then tried plugging another TV into the TV point and the same happened with the other TV. It couldn't find the channels. My partner and nephew think it must be the antenna, but it seems odd that this has only happened the first time it's been switched off at the wall.
Any ideas? It's rather annoying!

Have you got a signal booster by the TV or in another room or in the loft that's needs turning on to tune it?0
-
No, nothing like that. It's a new built ground floor flat with a TV point in the living room.0
-
Have you tried a 'factory reset' as opposed to just a re-tune?0

Turning it off at the wall has nothing to do with the problem as evidenced by trying another TV. Check the wall plate that the wire is properly connected then time to get an aerial engineer. How old is the house?0

It's a new build flat, a couple of years old.
I can't see where there is a factory reset, but it sounds like the problem isn't the TV?0 -

Do the tv and wall sockets and plugs look undamaged. Its possible the central pin has broken away.0 -
The sockets all look fine. We don't use the other TV for watching TV (just DVDs) as there is no TV point in the bedroom.
There is an aerial on top of the building. The other flats are currently vacant. Looks like we will have to call somebody in!0 -
Is there a fusebox for the communal areas?. If its a powered aerial check the fuse for the aerial.0

I'll look into that, cheers Norman!0
