Apple MacBook Air

I want to buy a MacBook Air (newest version ) which I believe is the one below.

The issue I have is that I thought the newest models had a solid state drive (SSD) and not hard disk drive (HDD) which from my understanding is what the model below has according to the title.

Am I wrong in thinking that the newest model (June 2014) which has 1.4ghz processor should have SSD and not HDD?

All the current Macbook Airs have an SSD, the spec on the Apple website describes a solid state drive as PCIe-based flash storage.

From the link that you posted, be careful. OSX 10.4 (Tiger) is approx 7-8 years old!

One of the three answers says Mavericks. Personally I would still be careful. Maybe, if OP wants to buy from this seller, contact them first, to find out exactly what they are buying.

HDD does usually refer to mechanical/magnetic storage but here just means "storage".

Lower down in the description confirms that that model has 128Gb flash storage, another name for a SSD drive.

check out the apple refurb site....these are macbook airs people have bought and returned (usually without using through buyers remorse but apple are not allowed to sell as brand new even if they are)...they are provided in a plain box but have the official apple 1yr warranty and you can buy applecare to extend it.

you can also get a macbook pro 13 retina on this site for a few quid more and it would give you a much better screen.
