Hi Ladies,
Just wondering if any of you have used or have a heated clothes airers? I'm looking at getting one for winter as I don't like putting my tshirts in the tumble dryer they would end up like belly tops on me lol.
So I was wondering if they were any good?
This is the one I'm looking at http://www.lakeland.co.uk/23357/Dry-Soon-Winged-Heated-Airer
Any advice welcome. Thank you

I have their fold out one.
I put a duvet cover over the laundry on the airer and it speeds up the drying.
I think they are handy for bad weather.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
Hi, I have the largest Lakeland tiered heated airer and it is really fantastic
I have a tumble dryer that is virtually never used now (except in emergency school pe kit situations
)
My large one drys 2x big loads overnight, with lots of jeans / hoodie type clothes maybe a few hours longer. It's on 24 hours a day during winter in my house as we have a big family and it means no more putting the heating on just to dry the clothes, plus no more damp smelling jeans. I highly recommend it and have converted a few of my non mse friends to using them too
Just spotted katsu's post above, should have mentioned they also can take duvets/duvet covers etc. too!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I am so so tempted to get one of these, but have a tumble dryer so don't know if I can justify the cost, but I guess they are cheaper to run than a tumble dryer?
Can I ask, those who put a cover over the top of them to dry their clothes quicker, does the floor below get damp? Lake land claim it will on their site in a comment, but does it in reality?PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.

Hi steph
We have this one
http://www.lakeland.co.uk/21736/Dry-Soon-3-Tier-Heated-Tower-Airer
and it is really solid, as other,s have said it works best if you stick a duvet cover or sheet over the whole thing as it traps the warm air and drys things quicker. It folds down really easily too. It saved me a fortune over the past 2 winters in tumble dryer costs.
I,m thinking about buying a second one, especially as they have 20% offNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

We too have the 3-tier square one, and swear by it. I do still have my tumble dryer but hardly ever use it; between line-drying & the Lakeland gadget we have no trouble drying all the laundry for 6-8 people, even in the worst weather, and in a cool & draughty old house too.Angie - GC April 25: £491.86/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 21/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

We have the largest one and love it! I have just ordered the smaller one for my mum as there is a 20% off promo on just now.
It's much better than a tumbly for things like jumpers etc as no shrinkage .

I'm after a normal airer that's suitable to fit xl men's clothes on it. Can anyone recommend one please?Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

I bought a desiccant dehumidifier for about the same price. It uses less energy and extracts the water from washing very efficiently.
There's a thread which covers the subject here:

On the back of another similar thread I ordered the biggest one on Friday night. Picking it up tomorrow. We don't have central heating and although I've got a great tumble dryer, I'm conscious of the running costs. Feeling justified with the spend, so thank you all!0

I have central heating but I've only just moved in this house and behind the radiators is fluff and dirt I've already ruined one top by putting it on the radiator it got rust on it and I can't get it out
And at the moment I use a normal maiden on the back step if it's dry if not I have to hang my tshirts in my bedroom window making it look like a chinese laundry so need something for winter.
I did read a review on lakeland for the 3 tier one some people said that it only dried the part of the clothing that was on the rungs have any of you found that?
Thank you
