Why not simply make it a social club where people can discuss their own investing and perhaps have a system for a club virtual trading account…. Organise talks on various types of trading and instruments, forget about profit. Unless you happen to find a group of people with a lot to put in (in which case the individual amounts are likely to be far too large for them to consider giving it away) I don't think you are going to get enough money together to make charitable giving a significant consideration.
If using virtual accounts you could have a number of accounts for different forms of investment vehicles and organise some light competition, or get your members to compete between their own virtual accounts.0 -
Google proshare and order the ProShare Investment Club manual it gives advice on how to set up and run an investment club including legal aspects. Large university clubs are very hard to set up and run using real money. Good luck!0

Thanks to everyone that has responded to this thread. I appreciate all your input.
This has also made me rethink my original idea and how its just not practical enough with such small donations.
Therefore, I'm thinking of how the virtual accounts option mentioned above may work.
Thanks again for all your help.0
