Thoughts on Animonda Carny Cat Food Please

At the moment 2 of our cats are back to eating pouches of food (the others a kibble junkie who won't eat meat of any type). They are currently on a mix of the gravy versions of Asda Tiger Select, Sheba Trays and Gourmet Tins.

They were originally being raw fed but Gizmo will only eat it now and again and Misty kept getting eye infections every 5-6 weeks which have not reoccurred since she stopped eating raw (may just be coincidence). So my goal is to try and get them to eat something which is healthier than supermarket bought food.

I've been looking on zooplus at the various types of food and I'm at a loss. I know Gizmo will not eat Bozita as we've bought it before and ended up with a load that we had to give away, Misty is less fussy and will eat most things. I know i want to feed them a complete food so I was thinking of getting Animonda Carny to try them on. What are peoples thoughts?

Just been looking at the Bozita cans too is there any difference between the meat contained in them and the tetra packs? (I've tried the tetra packs and not the tins).

My boys were on Animonda Carny for a long time then one day they completely went off it. All 4 of them. Pity as this is really good food but... cats are cats.. sighhhh

My two love Animonda or Bozita. Though I've only used the tetra packs of Bozita.

I'm a bit skint right now though so using butchers classic.

The meat in the Bozita cans is a moist pate, very different to the chunks in the tetra packs and a much better option IMO. Carny is very similar, a little more dense and offally.
Have you had a look at https://www.happykittycompany.co.uk
She does a fantastic range of great quality foods. The Macs is another meaty pate and works out as very good value, especially the larger 800g tins.

I haven't heard of Happykittycompany but have had a look at their website, I think I'll order a trial pack from Happykitty and a couple of packs of the Animonda to try them on and see which they prefer.

    Thanks for the replies :)

It is a fantastic website and both the food and service are excellent. I have ordered from there a couple of times and cannot praise the company enough....anyone used to Zooplus and their dented deliveries will be overjoyed at the neatly packed boxes which arrive the next day after ordering.
Macs comes in about the same price as Bozita/Animonda. Om Nom Nom and Granatapet do cost a bit more but are still cheaper than most of the supermarket offerings of so called premium foods, most of which are not even complete.

Animonda is great quality food at a good price, shame it made one of ours fart after them eating it for a while to a degree that I was considering buying a gas mask ^^

Smilla - is a great wet cat food that I sometimes buy from Zooplus. Similar consistency to Animonda Carny - also fabulous quality - packed full of meaty goodness.
No idea why UK produced petfood nowhere near as good! Mostly however I buy Butchers Classic as it's available in supermarkets.
  • Another vote for the HappyKittyCompany - Mia loves Granatapet & OmmNomNom and quite likes Ropocat (but not several meals in a row!)

I tend to open a tin and freeze into portions - she eats these just as happily as straight from the tin

My one big problem is the amount / quantity you have to buy to get free delivery & with only one cat eating it (Archie sadly won't), it's difficult to spend that much on just one of them at a time so I'm also looking for things to mix in with them to spread them out a bit / make an order last a bit longer if possible

Someone has just kindly sent me a couple of tins of Animonda Carney & Schmausy to try (both on Zoo+) - the AC has gone down really well :T and will be trying the Schmausy next (fingers crossed)

  • I'm just waiting on my order from zooplus to arrive before I try them on both. If they're both a big hit I may feed both so they have a greater variety.

Thank you for this advice, I'd never even thought about trying this. I shall also give this a go too
