Please help, I have applied to HSBC for 2,900 pounds and they have sent a letter offering 1,900 pounds saying that I have added it up wrong and my charges only total 2,550 (which they don't as interest and court cost is included) I have 10 days to respond to the offer but is that from the date of the letter as they have waited a week before posting it. Is this a common tactic to rush people into excepting in the last 2 days? I only have until Sunday 22nd july before I win the full amount by default anyway. Should I hold out for at least 2,550 as they have admitted to that in their letter ? How do I know if a defence has been lodged with the court. At the moment the money claim site says the status is "aknowledged" so if they lodge a defence just before Sunday I won't have time to except the offer if it is from the date on the letter (10th) not the date I got the letter (today, 17th).H E L P ! P L E A S E :-)

Thank you for replying 15 grand in debt so holding out for the extra grand sounds very much worth it to me, I'm just worried about a last minute defence and loosing the lot !0
