Hello Peeps, what can you tell me about Minerva worktops - I know they are acrylic, easy to install and appear to be a really good value alternative to things like granite - Pros & cons please.

They are a massive disappointment. If you're thinking about buying Maia worktops I would suggest you think twice. Go for something traditional like wood or if you like the idea of stone then cough up the extra money and buy something that's indestructible. Maia is technically a glorified laminate surface, with a slightly more authentic look but in terms of durability it is very poor. We also bought the integrated sink unit, which has serious design faults but more importantly the built in plug broke within days of use. The whole thing has got a very cheap feel to it so here's your warning again: don't be fooled by the showroom shiny display, Maia would not be a good buy even if it was the same price as laminate.0
