Question about booking registrars for civil ceremony

My partner and I are planning to get married next year and have chosen a venue in a different area to where we currently live. Religious ceremonies can be carried out anywhere (in Scotland anyway). A minister can marry you at a venue of your choice without it bring licensed. You are right with the civil ones though, only in licensed venues by a registrar and without anything religious in the ceremonies. Also humanist weddings are far and wide now aswell
