hi guys i posted a few days back about me and my partner moving to a new house. the house currently doesnt have a gas meter installed and we was told by the landlady to ring british gas to ask them to install one for us. we are currently with edf energy and would prefer to stay with them will they install a gas meter for us or will we have to go with british gas?
also if we do have to stay with british gas how do we go about switching. do i just ring edf energy up and tel lthem we want to switch to them? do we have to ring british gas up to let them know too or will edf do that for us?
sorry for all the questions never had to deal with things like this before. we want to ring up asap about getting a meter fitted as we really need to move in but cant til gas check has been done
thansk for any advice you can give me

If BG still do have ownership of the supply, or if they don't but you choose BG as your supplier, then usually they will fit a new meter free of charge
If there is anything not clear, could I suggest you ask for clarification instead of starting a new thread asking for the same information? Otherwise you will just get the same answers again
To switch gas or electricity companies, you usually just notify the company you are switching to, but you shouldn't do this until after the meter has been fitted.0 -
Hi, I work for an energy company - you don't need to go with British Gas, and I'd recommend you didn't. You can call any energy company and nominate them as your Gas supplier. TBH the landlady should do it as the meter is being installed at her property.0
