This year Sainsbobs have some nice hessian type bags with ring handles they are £2 each but they are part of the family gift so I always include them in my budget.
I love this idea. My mum has done it a few times and it has always been well received. Such a practical idea and a lot sturdier than a lot of the Christmas gift bags!MFW 2016 #32 £1574.66/£1500:j:j0 -

Seasalt always do some lovely jute Christmas bags, and closer to the time always do an offer including free postage. They aren't as cheap as £2, but are very good value for the quality.
I have all the ingredients for a xmas cake already except for alcohol. The only alcohol I have is Austins (Aldi Pimms) and I can't afford to buy more. Waddya reckon, would Pimms work?!0 -
There was a chappie on Skipton Market yesterday selling Xmas cards @ 2 packs for £1. Amongst them some packs of good quality charity cards. I got some PDSA ones and also Diabetes UK. I think I already have enough cards but can't resist a bargain!!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

99p store have a nice folding shopping bag in either red or green
boughta couple and will jazz up with stamps.
I don't think Pimms will work as the alcohol content isn't strong enough.Slimming World at target0 -
Islandmaid wrote: »Jlhmd - there,s loads of different methods, but for the skittles vodka I use 5 old water bottles with screw top lids, split the skittles into the different colours and put them into the bottles (20-30 sweeties in each) top each with approx 200 ml of voddy, put the lids on and shake like mad - when the sweets had disolved, I strain each bottle to remove any bits and scum, then put into my pretty bottles.
The toffee vodka - easier - take about 100ml of vodka out of a bottle - unwrap a whole pack of butterscotch (I use *erthers), smash em with a rolling in (in a bag) and tip into voddy bottle, put on lid and shake till disolved.
I also want to try candy cane vodka this year, using same method as toffee - thought it would make nice prezzies for the overage 'Yoot' in our family with a candy cane tied to the little bottles.
Island Maid..................Noo's don't do candy cane vodka it is horrid and tastes like milk of magnesia. We made some last year and it looked pretty enough but even DD's hard drinking male friends couldn't drink it :eek:Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I am pretty boring but we will do the same as last year. Homemade jam, mince pies and bread. Tins of sweets and a small personal homemade gift for the children.
We are on a low income due to early retirement, its the thought that counts. Jam made in Nov, rest Xmas Eve. Looking to buy our cards in the next week or so.2020 Stash makes/destash 61/1500
